New Magic Kingdom Cavalcade & More Disney World Entertainment Announced

Who’s ready for the return of more entertainment at Walt Disney World?

During the “Magical Entertainment for the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration” presentation at Destination D23 on Nov. 20, Disney shared the return of some beloved entertainment, along with new additions that are coming to the most magical place on earth.

Better yet, we also learned that cavalcades aren’t going anywhere. There’s even a brand new one set to debut at Magic Kingdom — and it sounds amazing!

Keep reading for all of the exciting entertainment details.

Brand New Magic Kingdom Cavalcade

This sounds like the cavlacade of all cavalcades.

Called the “Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade,” this mini-parade is coming to Magic Kingdom later this winter.

There will be both Pixar and Disney characters featured. Plus, the cavalcade “will feature the most characters of any cavalcade to date.”

Such characters include, Nick and Judy from Zootopia, Baloo and King Louie from The Jungle Book, José Carioca and Panchito from The Three Caballeros, Miguel from Coco, plus Merida, Moana, The Incredibles, and more!

The Return Of Parades To Magic Kingdom

As previously announced during the morning Disney Parks Destination D23 presentation, Festival of Fantasy parade at Magic Kingdom is returning in early 2022.

It’s nice to know cavalcades will continue to run alongside Festival of Fantasy, meaning even more opportunities to catch characters during your park visit!

The Reimagined Finding Nemo Musical At Animal Kingdom

In September, Disney announced that “Finding Nemo: The Musical” at Animal Kingdom would be returning sometime in 2022, but in a reimagined way with new storylines and the return of beloved songs from the original show (“In the Big Blue World” and “Go with the Flow”).

We now know that the updated show is called “Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!” and will be set in the timeline of the movie Finding Dory.

Once the audience is seated, they’ll find themselves at the Marine Life Institute. And when the show begins, guests will “catch up with the fish from Dr. P. Sherman’s office in Finding Nemo, who have made their way across the ocean to California.”

They’ll tell the story of Nemo and how they all got there.

An Update To Fantasmic! At Hollywood Studios

We also learned during the morning Disney Parks presentation that Fantasmic! is returning to both Hollywood Studios and Disneyland sometime in 2022.

As for Hollywood Studios’ version, we’re getting a brand new sequence featuring live performers, stunts, special effects, and a lineup of characters that have never been part of Fantasmic!

Meet “Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire”

Also announced during the big morning Disney Parks Destination D23 panel was the return of the beloved daytime Cinderella Castle Forecourt Stage show in early 2022, but with a 50th anniversary celebration twist.

Instead of being called “Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire,” the show is now known as “Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire.”

It will incorporate favorite scenes from the previous version of the show, plus a new opening and a new finale with Mickey Mouse and all his friends in their sparkling, EARidescent costumes.

There’s even an all-new, original song called “Where the Magic Feels Like Home.”
