Thanks to the Skyliner, upgraded onsite food options, and the addition of Riviera Resort (with its great food options), this resort is a fantastic bang for the buck, though people with a car will find it even easier to manage.

Found in the Epcot resort area, Caribbean Beach consists of vibrant colors, theming, and an overall tropical feel. There are even five “islands” surrounding the beautiful Barefoot Bay, where room buildings are located. They include: Barbados, Jamaica, Martinique, Trinidad, and Aruba.

The main “port of entry” is called Old Port Royale, where most of the main services are located, like check-in, concierge services, hotel amenities, dining, and the Calypso Trading Post gift shop.

And of course, we can’t forget the beaches. Swimming is not allowed in the lakes, but you’ll find several beach areas spread throughout the resort where you can relax or take in a sunset.

Guest Rooms And Bathrooms

The guest rooms and bathrooms at Caribbean Beach are pretty much what you’d expect, but perfectly themed. Plus, there are even pirate-themed rooms. Depending on which room you select, they will either sleep 2, 4, or 5 individuals.

Each room comes with the normal amenities, including a hairdryer, TV, free WiFi service, a coffee maker, a telephone, an in-room safe, an iron and ironing board, and a mini-refrigerator.

As far as storage goes, all the guest rooms have plenty of drawers for items, along with closets. However, unlike many other Disney Resort hotel rooms, there isn’t space underneath the beds for suitcases to hide.

There are also plenty of outlets for devices that need charging, which, of course, is always a must.

Now, let’s dive into the rooms.

Standard and Preferred Rooms

If you’re looking for a non-pirate room, there are several Standard and Preferred guest rooms to choose from.

It’s important to note that Preferred Rooms cost more, same with if you’re paying for a room with a view. Preferred rooms are also in closer proximity to dining and transportation.

As for the bathrooms, the sink/vanity area is separate from the split shower/tub. There are also doors that can be closed for privacy between the bathroom and bedroom areas.

  • Preferred Room: Views of either the Resort Hotel, Courtyard, or Woodlands; close to Fuentes del Morro Pool and Centertown Market; 2 Queen Beds or 1 Child-Size Pull-Down bed and 2 Queen Beds
  • Standard View — 5th Sleeper: Views of either the Resort Hotel, Courtyard, or Woodlands; 2 Queen Beds and 1 Child-Size Pull-Down bed

  • Water or Pool View: Views of the lake or pool; 2 Queen Beds
  • Water or Pool View — 5th Sleeper: Views of the lake or pool; 2 Queen Beds and 1 Child-Size Pull-Down bed
Standard bathroom at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort
  • King Bed: Views of the lake, pool, Resort Hotel, Courtyard, or Woodlands; 1 King Bed
  • Standard View: Views of the Resort Hotel, Courtyard, or Woodlands; 2 Queen Beds

Pirate Rooms

The Pirate-themed rooms are exactly like Standard and Preferred rooms, except they are decked out in pirate decorations.

Not only is your bed literally a pirate ship, but there are crates for drawers, barrels serve as nightstands, a pirate curtain for privacy between the bathroom and beds, and so much more.

These cost more than just your standard-themed room, but they’re definitely fun and kids will love them. It’s definitely personal preference what kind of room you book and if you want a themed-room.

  • Pirate  — Standard View: Views of the Resort Hotel, Courtyard, or Woodlands; 2 Double Beds (these are like Full Beds, aka smaller than Queen, so be sure to take that into account)
  • Pirate —  Water View: Views of the lake or pool; 2 Double Beds

Note: There are also both wheelchair and hearing accessible rooms available in each category that include a roll-in shower and visual alarms.

You can also check out room layouts below.

Checking In And Out

When it comes to checking in and out, you have a few options: at the front desk, online through the official Walt Disney World website, or via the My Disney Experience app.

The lobby is located in the main building, aka Old Port Royale. Even though the front desk is there to assist guests, especially with checking in and checking out, all Disney World Resort guests are encouraged to check-in online or by using MDE.

Lobby in Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort
  • Checking-In: The official check-in time for Caribbean Beach Resort is 3:00 pm, although sometimes rooms may be available sooner than that. After you check-in online or using the app, you’ll receive a room-ready notification via text. You can then use your MagicBand or MDE’s digital key feature to unlock your room door.
  • Checking-Out: Check-out time is 11:00 am. Currently, guests will automatically be checked out of their rooms. But, if you have unresolved charges to your hotel folio, you’ll need to visit the front desk.

Note: Guests also have the option of to chat virtually with resort Cast Members via MDE for any assistance.

Magical Express pickup and the Old Port Royale bus stop are also right outside the main lobby, along with luggage storage for those who have checked out or are waiting to check in.

Note: Resort Airline Check-In is no longer available.

Parking

In addition to the lobby, Old Port Royale is where you can find dining locations, the gift shop (Calypso Trading Post), and even the Banana Cabana outdoor bar and lounge.

Parking is available at Caribbean Beach, but it’s not always free.

There is a standard $20 overnight self-parking fee (including tax) that is applied to guests’ hotel folio upon check-out.

Complimentary standard self-parking is available for non-resort guests exploring dining, shopping, entertainment, and other experiences during the day.

We also have a complete Walt Disney World parking guide you can browse.
