What is open at the Walt Disney World resorts (including transportation)

There’s a lot to consider when choosing a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, especially since many of the resorts now are modified when it comes to dining, shopping, transportation, and more.

Before your vacation begins, you need to make sure you know what’s available at your resort before you go.

Like the theme parks, the resorts have some health and safety modifications.

UPDATE: Mask Policy

Starting February 17, 2022, face coverings will be optional for fully vaccinated guests in both outdoor and indoor attractions, queues, and restaurants. Guests who are not fully vaccinated will be expected to continue wearing face coverings whenever inside, including when on attractions and indoor theaters.

Guest visiting Walt Disney World ages 2 and older (including those who are vaccinated) must still wear masks on all enclosed transportation, including buses, monorails and at the Disney Skyliner.

Most every resort is currently open, except for Disney’s All-Star Sports. All-Star Sports is set to reopen on March 31, 2022, with bookings available now.

This means that come March 31, all Walt Disney World Resort hotels will be operating for the first time since 2020.

The resorts that are open still offer that magical Disney theming and atmosphere, but not everything is available right now (something to keep in mind when booking).

Mickey at Topolinos

Due to many factors, you may want to consider staying at a resort that has more options. Yes, it might be more expensive, but you might want to be spend more time at your resort and have more dining or transportation choices.

To assist you, below are all of the resort’s that are currently open and what’s available at each one. We also note if the entire resort is open or if only the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) part is.

We’ve indicated which dining locations offer the following:

  • Mobile Order – allows guests to order ahead from their phone in the My Disney Experience app
  • Mobile Dine Walk-up Availability – allows guests to be added to the waitlist without visiting the host stand by using the My Disney Experience app
  • Mobile Dine Check-in – guests can check in for their previously booked dining reservation without visiting the host stand by using the My Disney Experience app
  • Table Service To Go – guests can Mobile Order from select Table Service restaurants via the My Disney Experience app

Also keep in mind that valet parking has returned to the following Disney World hotels (via WDWMagic.com):

  • Disney’s Contemporary Resort
  • Disney’s Riviera Resort
  • Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
  • Disney’s BoardWalk Resort
  • Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
  • Disney’s Beach Club Resort
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village
  • Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Hopefully this helps you decide which hotel is the best fit if you have an upcoming trip or are thinking about planning one.

Important: If you want to visit Disney World Resort hotels and you’re driving, you usually need either a confirmed resort reservation or confirmed dining reservation in order to enter. This sometimes vary, but something to keep in mind.
