Disney Park Pass System Extended Through Early January 2023

Once again, the Disney Park Pass System has been extended and this time through early January 2023.

Following the announcement that 2022 Walt Disney World vacation packages and room-only reservations are now available to book, the park reservation calendar was updated to reflect that guests can, as of publication, make park reservations through the first two weeks of January 2023.

In October 2020, the park reservation system was extended through January 2022, but now it looks Disney plans to keep the system around for a bit longer.

In August 2020, Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro opened up to Roger Dow (via about the park reservation system, Mobile Order, contactless menus, and more technologically-friendly items.

At the time, D’Amaro said, “The technology doesn’t only help us during a time of a pandemic, but I also think it actually leads to a better cast and guest experience.” He added, “So these are things that are helping us now, but I think they’re here to stay.”

It’s not entirely clear what “here to stay” means, but it looks like the Disney Park Pass System is “here to stay” at least through early January 2023.

If you’re not familiar with the park reservation system, all guests must have both valid theme park admission and a park reservation to access WDW theme parks (except for Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park).

You simply book park reservations online, but know that there are only a select number of reservations available for the three buckets of inventory offered (Theme Park Ticket Guests, Disney Resort Guests, and Annual Passholders).

Planning a WDW vacation is very different these days. If you want help in booking a trip, we recommend reaching out to Small World Vacations.
