If you’re traveling to Magic Kingdom between now and September 30, 2019, you’ll have the chance to catch Mickey and Minnie all dressed up and ready to party.

With adorable costumes and fun extras (like rare character meets!), Mickey & Minnie’s Surprise Celebration definitely adds a dash of color to the park.

The Surprise Celebration isn’t a big, park-wide extravaganza, but there are a few things that are cute and worth noticing.

Here’s what you can expect to find…

Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party

This dance party (and mini-parade) was on hiatus for a while, but the wait to get it back was worth it because this new version is a whole lot of fun.

With bright colors, adorable costumes, and a musical score that will get everybody up on their feet and dancing, this inception of the Street Party is sure to be a hit.

One small caveat, though: the sun.

This parade goes from the front of the park and up to the Hub (the area in front of the castle where it pauses for the dance party) before returning back toward the front of the park.

It takes place several times a day, but, unfortunately, most of those occur while the sun is at “full roast” level. If you want to catch it in the middle of summer, you’ll definitely want to be prepared for that.

Looking for the best place to catch it?

If you want to get involved in the dancing, head towards the Hub. When the floats stop, guests can move around and dance along.

Meet Mickey & Minnie (together!)

Being able to meet both Mickey and Minnie together is a big deal, and now you’ll be able to do it while they are wearing some of the cutest costumes ever.

Specialty food and beverage offerings inspired by the Head Cheese himself are available during Mickey and Minnie’s Surprise Celebration.

The Mickey Burger (a messy but delicious burger that is topped with macaroni and cheese, American cheese, cheese sauce, Flaming Hot Cheetos dust, and just in case your arteries hadn’t totally closed up, bacon) makes a return at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe.

Celebration Central

Celebration Central

When you meet Mickey and Minnie, you will walk right past what Disney is calling “Celebration Central”.

Celebration Central hours

Celebration Central is where you’ll find the official Guest Book for Mickey and Minnie. Anybody that wants to is allowed to sign it.

Once you sign it, you get a cute little card that that gives you some ideas on where you can catch Mickey in action at Magic Kingdom.

Most of the items listed aren’t “Surprise Celebration” specific; it’s just a list of all the places where you can see or interact with Mickey.

Fun merchandise

If you like shopping, you’ll find lots of adorable merchandise available. Everything from shirts to popcorn buckets to plush Mickeys with party hats like these:

You’ll find Surprise Celebration items in nearly every store.

Surprise guests

Mickey and Minnie have lots of friends visiting to help them celebrate.

At the front of the park (near the flag pole in Town Square), you’ll be able to meet some rare characters (aka “long lost friends”) like Nick and Judy, Robin Hood and Little John, Prince John and Friar Tuck, etc.

This is definitely a treat and rare character meets like this at Magic Kingdom don’t happen very often.

This character meet isn’t in the My Disney Experience App (as you can see below), but they typically meet intermittently from 11:30 a.m. until 4:45 p.m..
