Are you a fan of sushi? If so, you’ll definitely want to check out the Japan booth at this year’s Food and Wine Festival.
In fact, it’s one of our “not to miss” choices here in Japan, along with the Kochi Lemon Drop cocktail that was also very, very good.
Quick sidenote: we noticed on one evening that even though this booth was listed to remain open until the end of the night, it started closing about 20 minutes before the rest of the park. The reason for closing early remains unclear, but, either way, if this is on your to-do list, make sure you visit well before closing time just in case (as you should with everything else that’s at the top of your list).
Here’s everything you need to know about the Japan booth, including reviews, photos, and our must-trys.

Price: $6.50
Special Diets: N/A
Rating: 2.7/5
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Good proportions of bun to filling. Unfortunately, didn’t like the taste of the filling at all.
Heather: The filling in this bao bun was really good, but I worried I was eating my son. Thanks, Pixar.
Felicia: Dry bun with a mild chicken teriyaki stuffed inside. Not great.
Tempura Shrimp Sando
Crunchy tempura shrimp served with yuzu crab, green onions, and eel sauce on a bun.
Price: $6.75
Special Diets: N/A
Rating: 3/5
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Nicely flaky, eel sauce delicious, bun doesn’t add to the flavor. Could’ve gone without that part.
Felicia: The bread is dry and the shrimp, crab, and other toppings are very fishy tasting. Doesn’t taste fresh.
Spicy Hako Sushi
Spicy tuna and salmon served box-style with sushi rice, red tempura crunchies, and spicy volcano sauce.

Rating: 4.3/5
Our Thoughts

Heather: I really enjoy this flavor. Spicy without being too spicy.
Felicia: I really liked this. The volcano sauce has a nice amount of heat and the tuna and salmon are delicious.

Our Thoughts
