The Alps Menu & Review (2021 Epcot Food & Wine Festival)

The Alps booth is a returning marketplace to Food & Wine.

This marketplace, along with several others, were initially set to open their windows beginning Oct. 1, but they actually first opened during the third week in August.

Here you can find what is described as “comforting Alpine cuisine,” including a Raclette Swiss cheese served with a baguette.

A Raclette is a popular Swiss dish that is based on the heating of cheese and then scraping off the melted part. It is also usually served with potatoes.

There are two Raclette dishes that are exactly the same at this booth, except for one has ham. Yay for another vegetarian offering!

This menu item is a must-try (with or without the ham). Not only is it tasty, but you get a lot for your money!

Our Thoughts

Heather: HUGE portion. And, very good flavor. Loved the little pickles, but there was kind of a funky cheese smell.
Felicia: I loved this. It is hearty, huge serving, and so flavorful. The potatoes are soft, the cheese has a sharp, pungent flavor, the ham is salty and delicious. And the pickles add a nice vinegar kick. Would gladly get this and the frozen rose as a meal.

Our Thoughts

Heather: Just like the one with ham, but without the ham.HUGE portion. And, very good flavor. Loved the little pickles, but there was kind of a funky cheese smell.
Felicia: Exactly the same as the other savory item at this booth but this one is served without the ham. Good option for those that don’t eat meat or don’t care for ham. If you do like ham, would suggest the ham version over this one.
Allyson: A really great vegetarian option and a nice portion size. Definitely shareable! Loved the pickles, which added a nice crunch. You can’t go wrong with cheese, potatoes, and bread.

Blueberry and Almond Frangipane Tart

A sweet tart made with blueberry and almond frangipane and topped with crème fraîche.

Rating: 3.6/5

Our Thoughts

Heather: I really loved this – it was almost like an undercooked cookie. Not too sweet and just the right amount of tart.
Felicia: This is crumbly and buttery and served warm. Good option for cobbler fans or blueberry dessert fans.
Allyson:I’m not an almond fan and this just had too much almond flavoring for me.

Huber Vision Grüner Veltliner

From Austrian vineyard Grüner Veltliner, Huber Vision is known for its green apple fruity aromas, with hints of lemon, lime and peaches.

Rating: 2.3/5

Our Thoughts

Heather: Nothing super amazing. Just a generic-tasting white.
Felicia: This white isn’t too sweet or tart. It’s unremarkable, though.
Allyson: Not a big wine person and this was just ok.

Cave De La Côte Rosé Gamay

A Gamay Rosé from the Cave De La Côte vineyard in Switzerland.
Note: this drink is also available in a flight.

wine flight at the Alps

Price: $7.00
Made with Alcohol?: Yes
Rating: 2/5

Our Thoughts

Heather: Do not want to rose all day with this one.
Felicia: This was very sweet for a rose. Didn’t care for it.
Allyson: This tastes just like your typical Rose. Nothing spectacular.

René Favre Dôle

René Favre Dôle hails from Chamoson, which is located in southwestern Switzerland.
Note: this drink is also available in a flight.

Price: $7.00
Made with Alcohol?: Yes
Rating: 1.7/5

Our Thoughts

Heather: 0 for 3 on the wines at this booth. Kinda bitter? Just not a good red.
Felicia: A mild red. Easy to drink but I wouldn’t go out of my way to get it.
Allyson: This just didn’t taste good, but I’m also not a red wine person.

Frozen Rosé

Frozen Rose

Price: $9.00
Made with Alcohol?: Yes
Rating: 5/5

Our Thoughts

Heather: I do want to rose all day with this one
Felicia: Generally not a fan of rose or frozen drinks, but this was both refreshing and delicious. Nice and tart and not too sweet.
Allyson: A really tasty and refreshing Frozen Rose. Perfect for a hot Disney day.
